With the current skills gap which is constantly in the spotlight, Sash UK are keen to invest in apprentices bringing new talent into the industry. Sash UK currently employ 4 apprentices across the business.
On Tuesday 26th July 2018, nominated for an award, Kurt Ryal apprentice engineer, attended the Barnsley College Student Award Ceremony.
We are proud of everything that Kurt has achieved this year, he has aimed high from the beginning always working towards distinctions. Kurt’s great attitude and hard work has paid off, he was awarded ‘Overall Winner’ at the award ceremony, for ‘Outstanding attitude towards both learning and work’.
Kurt has worked at Sash UK for 18 months along side our Engineering Manager, Colin Brooke and the engineering team, Jake & Julian. Kurt has been involved in all aspects of engineering, learning how to maintain our existing machinery and manage breakdowns effectively supported by the team.
Kurt commented that he enjoys all hands on aspects of the role, working on maintaining and fixing the CNC machines and working with the team, learning new skills.
At the end of January 2019 when Kurt’s apprenticeship comes to an end, there is a permeant place in the engineering team for him and we hope that he will continue to work with us. He is not only a great addition to the engineering department, but to the Sash UK team.
Colin Brooke commented ’He is a refreshing and positive addition the the maintenance team we are immensely proud of his hard work, he truly deserves this award’.
