This job involved the new VEKA Matrix 70. The project was at a 1970’s style 5 bedroom house in the Cheshire suburb of Alderley Edge.
The customer wanted to enhance and modernise the exterior of the property, by replacing the existing white PVC-U windows with anthracite grey, in a mullion style. The existing roofline was also replaced with anthracite grey PVC-U. The dated and fading white PVC-U cladding was removed, the brickwork was rendered with K-Rend, and natural stone cills were installed.
The work is now completed apart from the rendering. It was discovered that the Local Authority Planning Department will allow the replacement of windows and roofline without permission. However, changing the appearance of a property by rendering over the bricks does require planning permission. A planning application has been made and we would expect it to be approved, as many other properties on the Crescent have had the same treatment.
“We are really pleased with the windows and we’ve received a few compliments from neighbours.”
